Who repairs (or builds?) IVL Steelrider Midi Pickups?

Who repairs (or builds?) IVL Steelrider Midi Pickups?

Post by Jim Cohen »

Got a 10-string midi pickup that needs repair. Would like to sell my IVL system but would prefer to sell as complete system with fully working pickup. Do you know anyone who repairs or makes new midi pickups for steel?
thanks!

Chuck Abend, in Kansas City, Mo could probably do it. I know he's reworked several that he has (had??). I don't have a phone number for him anymore but if you call Bruce Zumsteg (Zumsteel) he probably has his phone number.

Thanks, Jack, but I've already spoken with Chuck. He makes his own, for 12-string steels only (mine's a 10), and can rebuild existing pickups but says it's extremely tricky and he cannot guarantee the results. Too iffy for me, so I'm looking for an alternative. Thanks, anyway.

Jim I have a phone number of a company in Canada That did build them. I called them once some time ago. They don't build them any more, but if I had one they would repair it for me. The number is 604-744-4040. Please me know if you get any help from. Good luck Jim Strahan
