Is Anyone Familiar with Richard Wilson Lap Steel Guitars
Hi, I was looking at lap steel guitars made by Richard Wilson in Australia.( https://rwguitars.com/ ) Are any members familiar with or own either his electric or Weissenborn guitars ? If so I’d be interested in your thoughts about how they sound, quality, etc. and how they might compare to other custom lap steel guitars. Looks like currently he is making them out of Tasmanian Blackwood. I’d also be interested in any comments you might have regarding Tasmanian Blackwood vs Koa. Thanks for your input.

Re: Is Anyone Familiar with Richard Wilson Lap Steel Guitars
I own a mid-teens RW weissenborn. Mahogany. Excellent build quality. I love mahogany, have owned a few mahogany weisses (and regular guitars) over the years. My favorite tone wood. This one has an excellent tone and volume.
I’ve seen that he is building laps. They look very hot, but a bit rich for my tastes and, I got enough laps. If I had that kinda scratch, I’d get one.
